(How do you see Blackstenius?, enough level to be the striker of Real Madrid now, and more important, in the future?)
Short answer: "Yes, but…"
Long answer in English - Google Translate sometimes messes things up, and this gets too complicated for me to do in Spanish:
Stina Blackstenius has a lot of talent. Big, strong, tough and fast. Very good in a counterattacking game, when she takes on defenders head-on and is very hard to stop. Not exactly a box-player in narrow spaces - she prefers coming with speed into areas - but I think she has developed her goalscoring inside the box as well. Covers the ball well, and is hard for defenders to control in set pieces, because she is a bit nasty and strong as an ox!
If there is a problem with Blackstenius, it would be her self-confidence.
She started well in Montpellier in 2017, but had a tough second year. Decided to move back to Linköping in 2019, because she said she felt the need for the more comfortable and secure environment back at her old club. However, Linköping had a chaotic season 2019 with unresolved conflicts inside the team. Stina had a surprisingly mediocre season, outshined by her teammates Lina Hurtig and Mimmi Larsson.
Now she is in Göteborg. A well-functioning, Champions Legue-class team. There she has to compete with two of the best Swedish strikers (Pauline Hammarlund and Rebecka Blomqvist) already in the club. So far, Stina has looked very good on the pitch, but have not been as distinctive in her goalscoring as Hammarlund and Blomqvist. And now she has been injured, and missing the games with the national team.
So at this point, she may have some trouble with her self-confidence. I think she would need a fine autumn with Göteborg, eventually establishing herself as the Number One striker in the club. Maybe helping them to win the league, and do well in the CL this winter.
When it comes to pure skill and talent, I think Blackstenius could become a great asset for Real Madrid. Her physical strengths would make her hard to handle for a lot of the Spanish defenses.
But there is that warning sign about her mentality. She can become uncomfortable and end up in a dry-spell if she doesn't score.
On the other hand, moving from Göteborg to Madrid could be beneficial for her. In Madrid she would be the undisputed "9", which she has not really been for the last two years in her Swedish clubs. And she clearly likes playing with Asllani as a "10" behind her.
In the Swedish national team during 2019 she had several games without scoring, but coach Gerhardsson kept playing her. Then, in the World Cup, Kosse helped Stina cure her dry spell with this classy assist against Canada (below)! And after that, Stina was brilliant the rest of the tournament. So it's a lot about the environment and the confidence from the coach, I think.
